Public spaces are the pillars of our communities. What we do with them speaks of inclusion, or exclusion.
About the project
Playground for Kids is a model developed by Timbuktu and other organisations, with the objective of bringing local neighbourhoods together to shape safe, fun places for kids to play and for communities to connect.
Impact and Main Outcomes
In many cities areas, and most especially the most vulnerable ones, community areas and playground can become places of exclusion and competition, or space for communities to come together and connect with activities like art, sport or storytelling. Playground for Kids is a model that enables any local community to identify these areas and use easy-to-access, low-cost materials to co-create the most fun, colourful and meaningful space for all generations to come together.
